I need a health check.
(I may not look like Jabba, but I’m getting a sense of that flabby, I’ve been sitting too much feeling.)
As I’ve mentioned before, work is picking up, and that’s an excellent thing.
But. There’s the butt. It’s sitting – a lot.
While I feel like I bounced back pretty quickly after Iris was born, I’m still not quite where I was before I got pregnant, and I have some pants I really want to wear again.
(I also want to be at ease in outfits like Leia’s again.)
I realized things were at a stalling point when my Zumba instructor from last year announced she was not resuming class this fall, and when I discovered that my balance is worse than when I was nine months pregnant. And my diet’s been less than stellar, with little time for chopping veggies and boiling grains these days.
So, I spent a little time today getting back on track. I ate a salad, and put my exercise in the hands of the almighty Interwebs.
I managed to find a FREE Gilda’s Club Zumba class that works with my schedule and is only a few minutes from our house. It’s good to know that I’ll be part of a large organization that supports people affected by the real “C” word – cancer.
Am I back in the saddle? We won’t know until I’ve been through the first class. Until then, I’ll be clenching glutes and doing arm circles in my desk chair.
